What's Up?

These are pics from last weekend, so things have changed already, but here's what's growing behind The 123....

I love the blue-purple of violets - the leaves are crisp and the blue bloom is soft and comforting:

This Creeping Charlie is still looking a little rough. Although some people get rid of it because it's a 'weed,' I like it because it's an easy, pretty, fluffy ground cover:

Dandelions, of course:

The buds won't be far behind, but right now there are Red Clover leaves:

Springtime - post-flu catch-up post

Just because I've been slacking on the blog doesn't mean work at The 123 is slacking. The drywall is hung and the mudding has started. Also, some of the plumbing that needed rerouted for both the first and second floors has been finished.

Now that the flu has finally loosed its grip, I will update pictures and post some color samples soon.
And even though the temperatures remain wintry, little yellow coltsfoot flowers are popping out of the hillside, so there is hope for spring - soon.

Morning Glories

I love volunteers. Especially volunteer flowers:

This beautiful pile of morning glories volunteered on the hillside where the jungle used to grow.

First the sunflower and now these; I wonder what other interesting seeds are waiting for an opportunity on our hillside?

Here's a close up of one of the blue blooms. It's snuggled in among a bit of English Ivy (the darker leaves):

And one more:

I was standing in the parking lot for this one. The bright blooms sit on top of the rock wall.

Pictures

I think there's something wrong with the profile picture in the sidebar; I haven't been able to figure out what to do about it.

Since I can't fix it, I will update it with a new picture that I will take today.

AND - yesterday I noticed a new flower. I'll get pictures of those, too.
